Hiew: Why make such a big fuss?

Kota Kinabalu: Luyang Assemblyman Hiew King Cheu said he does
not understand why DAP is making such a big fuss over leaving the
opposition party. "I don't know whether this is the new culture of the DAP, and if it is true, it is much regretted," he said in a statement, Wednesday. The party had said it would be starting a signature campaign to pressure him to resign since he won the seat on a DAP ticket and quit to become an Independent following a falling out with his former colleagues. He said his decision to leave DAP would not affect his ability in serving the people to the best of his ability. The former DAP State adviser also said he wanted to concentrate on his job and whatever DAP wants to do to him is none of his concern. "It is my constitutional and democratic right to choose and decide the course of action and direction, which is best for my constituency in Luyang. "It is no point to harp on the issues and comment on the happenings because there is plenty of work to do for the people," he said. |
